BECKY HOLZEMER: "Stress has always ruled my life and weight. When my mom passed away last year, I knew that I needed to do something to keep myself busy or I would continue dealing with my emotions by overeating. I was 55 years old, 50 lbs overweight, tired, & bored but not ready to sit in a rocking chair. I called Brad at Apple Athletic Club and he asked me to come in and talk about the programs at the Club. After this meeting, we decided that a Personal Trainer would help me achieve my goals. Luckily for me, he signed me up with a great Personal Trainer, Steve Gardner. It is difficult to put into words how much I appreciate Steve. We have become friends and he is the best coach and cheerleader I have ever had. As I lost weight, Steve was just as excited as I was - sometimes more! He reviewed my food log weekly to make sure I followed a healthy diet. When I had a hard time completing an exercise, he would find a way to help me succeed. Steve helped me gain confidence in myself and I cannot believe how much my life has changed in the past (4) months. I have lost (57) lbs and I love going to the gym to exercise, visiting new friends to share our success stories, and living a lifestyle that makes me feel younger and more energetic. I never thought I could run, lift weights, do pushups, and love it at the same time! I have exceeded my goals with Steve's help and encouragement and I have learned that it is never too late to change a lifetime of bad habits. I am now in maintenance and this part of my journey is just as challenging. However, I know success is my only option because I have Steve at my side and together there is no challenge "we" cannot overcome!"
