On August 25th, 2003, Bill was involved in a paragliding accident near Moore, Idaho resulting in a burst fracture of his lower spine at L3. His legs wouldn’t move and doctors thought he wouldn’t walk again. Over time, Bill got enough neurological return to his legs to retire his wheelchair. In his words, “Me walking was not a pretty sight, but my goal of letting my mother and father see me walk again before they passed away was achieved.” Fast forward to 2009. Due to inactivity, Bill had gained 50 pounds and his blood pressure was through the roof. He tried numerous “fad” diets only to gain it all back and then some more. His walking had not improved much either. That all changed when his wife Carol gave him a 12-week fitness program with Brandon Reed. Brandon introduced Bill to the Beyond Fitness Weight Loss Program helping him make intelligent food choices with regards to calories and quality of food. Bill also performed the exercise portion of the program under Brandon’s supervision to improve his strength without injury. In Bill’s words “Although I still have significant issues from my paralysis, I have lost 20 pounds in three months. The best part is the increase in strength, stamina, and an improvement in blood pressure…If I can do this, anyone can. I’m just a regular guy with a low constitution, thrust into a bad situation. Is this easy? Absolutely not… Halfway through the program, I can tell you that it has been a life-changing experience. Do I look forward to working out on schedule? Not always. Do I miss eating 5000 calories a day? Sometimes but not very often. I have made a great friend in Brandon. He is very committed to helping me have an injury-free successful program.
