Aquatic Classes
The water is an excellent medium to work out in:
non-impact - stay cool - extra resistance for toning massaging effects - improved circulation - increased flexiblity variety of time - certified instructors - your choice of intensity levels fun - great cardiovascular - hard workout but not hard on you friendly classes - privacy in submersion - you can work at your own pace
Exercise in the water is tender on your joints; get resistance for your muscles plus a great cardiovascular workout. A good hard workout shouldn't be hard on you. Our three wonderful pools are used for these classes. The indoor lap/aerobic pool and the outdoors pool (open Memorial day-Labor day) temperature is 83-85 degrees. The therapy pool is 93-95 degrees. No swimming skills required, as you stay vertical. H20- A low to high intensity workout. Classes are 50-60 minutes. Similar to land aerobic class, but with all the benefits of the water; includes a warm-up, bodywork, aerobic segment, cool down and stretch BUT with all the added benefit of the water! The H20 classes are taught in the indoor or outdoor pool-weather permitting. Joint Effort- A movement and stretching class designed to enhance range of motion and increase flexibility. This class is for those with loss of mobility, arthritis or any other injury or limitation. Taught by certified Arthritis Foundation Instructors. Classes are 50-60 minutes long and taught in both indoor and outdoor pools. Hydro-Fit- Is a high intensity workout. This class is taught in the deep water. It is geared for those who need a challenge. You use the Hydro-Fit gear on your feet or waist for buoyancy and resistence. You'll experience sport moves, clisthenics and additional resistance. This is a great workout that challenges every muscle. No swimming skills required. Come and try if you dare........classes are 45 to 55 minutes. ISU Class- We are excited to offer many fitness classes through Idaho State University. **This class time (Aquasize) is offered to currently enrolled ISU students ONLY!** There will be 2 lap lanes still available during this class. This will be during the ISU school year only. |
