6/18/10 Congrats to everyone!  You have come a long way on a very difficult journey and it is not over. It never ends.  Balance is the most important thing in life.  It is a way of life that you have all adopted now and can continue as you journey along.  I want to especially congratulate Mark Taylor our Ultimate Loser this season for the men.  Mark started his weight loss journey before he even joined the competition and he has come a long way.  Mark just completed a marathon las weekend with a qualifying time for an upcoming national marathon!  Since Mark started the competition, he has lost 24 lbs and is now 11% body fat!  Way to go Mark!! You are an inspiration to us all and a reminder that a good attitude and honest, hard work will carry you a long way.  Congratulations!! Thank you all adn I look forward to continue to help you in your health and fitness efforts.

6/16/10 - As we wind down the competition the Green teams spirit is hanging in there.  We have missed a couple of people these last few weeks and some have had to deal with the frustration of water plateaus and even weight gain.  Others continue to forge ahead and have hurtled themselves into a new frame of mind and way of living.  Nice job Green team.  The skills that you have learned you can use for the rest of your life.  Always strive for balance in your life and you are sure to succeed.  Keep moving! I look forward to working more with you in round II of Beyond Fitness!  I'll see YOU in the gym!

6/9/10 - Way to go Green team!  We finally mangaged to put two weeks in a row together for a win!  Good job!  As the numbers show here, we are getting close the end of the competition and some of you may be tiring out.  Now is the time to re-commit to your goals and lifestyle change. Mark will be competing in a marathon this weekend!  Good luck!  Tara and Tina are neck and neck in overall percentage of weight lost.  Keep up the good work!  We've got so much more to do!  I'll see YOU in the gym!

6/2/10-  Way to go Green team!  We beat the White team by ONE point!  We have some great competitors that are holding up the team.  You are a great support network! The competiion is fierce.  We are rounding the corner on the last stretch of this competition.  Now is the time to really buckle down.  If you have been slacking on your record keeping, get back on it.  If you aren't getting into the gym to earn all of your points, do it.  You own your results.  You are in charge of your life!  I'll see YOU in the gym!

5/25/10- The Green Team did well this week with their tougher workout. Although we had some setbacks with the weigh ins, we had some great success after coming back from vacations. Remember if you do not attend class your team loses points! Lets make sure we make this a team effort for the last half of the program! Keep staying active and eating right!

5/19/10- Way to go Green Team!  Way to pull it together this last week!  We are just a little more than half way through the program.  Just imagine what your life might be like by the time we are finished!  Keep physicaly active inside and out side of the gym. This past week we had several team members competing in races.  Way to go Chalise, Celeste, Mark, and Tina!  You guys did awesome! Keep working hard.  You get out of it what you put into it.  I'll see YOU in the gym!

5/12/10- Another week has gone by and what have you done to improve your health?  Life continues on with or without you.  Why not make it more enjoyable by obtaining a healthy and fit lifestyle?  Life is best when we live it, not watch it.  The green team is doing just that!  Way to go this last week guys.  Your hard work is paying off-on the scale, in your clothes, and the way you feel both physicaly and mentaly.  Keep up the great work.  I'll see YOU in the gym!

5/7/10 -The participants did well this week even though some of them were not in their normal enviornments, some were out of town and others had birthdays and parties, but still stuck to the behaviors and lost 1-2 pounds! The green team tried some new things this week in addition to the circuit and enjoyed and excelled with the new and different workouts. Excellent job green team, Mike will be back next week!

4/28/10  We are past our second week and going strong.  Nice job Green Team!  Mark is holding down the fort for the men on our team.  He will be hard to catch, but Tara and Celeste are right on his heels! We are having some great discussions about healthy lifestyle mangagement and the team is doing a great job of implementing those five critical control factors into their daily routines.  Balance is the secret of life and that will transcend into your exercise and healthy eating.  Remember, the exercise points are just as important to earn as losing the weight!  Check out the numbers below. Burn those calories and feel great!  See YOU in the gym!

4/21/10  Impresive first week Green team.  You have worked hard and the results proove it!  We would like to reward your hard work with a gift certificate to Applebee's.  They have several delicious healthy new meal items at 550Kcals or less!  Congratulations.  Keep up the hard work and there might be more suprises and rewards in the future other than just weight loss, looking good, and feeling great.  But, isn't that reward enough?  I'll see YOU in the gym. GO GREEN TEAM!!

6/19/2010- Great Job White Team!  You survived the first Ten weeks of a really great lifestyle that will benefit you and your families for the rest of your life.  I know that all of you have gained some knowledge or insight or both that you can take with you and Absolutely take control of your bodies. Use these things and find the balance, so you can truly enjoy life. Great Job Shanda!  OOOOORAHH!!!   Shanda was a leader in the group from day one and really provided extra push throughout.  She has accomplished great things in her journey and will continue to do so.  NOW, on to Part II!  See ya Monday morning and for those of you not continuing, I better see you continuing your own journeys.  GO WHITE!!!!

6/16/2010- The white team is hanging in there pretty well.  We have had a couple members fall off the horse and wish they would jump on and finish with us Thursday.  This has been a great team with a great motivational relationship.  As we draw to a close on this session, I hope that the sustainable behaviors are solidified in your lifestyle so that you are in control of your body for the future.  You can do it!  I lood forward to continuing into Part II and pushing to new heights.  Thanks!

6/10/2010- What an inopportune time for water retention.  Todd had a freak weight gain this week and is now back down to where he was last week. The scale can be so mean.  Okay guys, this is it.  We are heading into the last weekend and coming week.  I know there are some tired white team members.  Reach WAY down and Lets Pull out a great finish.  There is a great team mentality in the white team.  Use it to Drive each other to greatness.

6/3/2010-OOHHH!! So close.  With the weeks moving on, people are getting tired.  This is where you need to remember what you promised yourself.  Dig in and make the firm realization that this is not a ten week competition, but a lifelong push.  I have said it before and I will continue to say it-- You are where you are because of what you do and you will be where you will be because of what you will do.  Fitness is not an arrival; it is definitely a journey.  KEEP DRIVING!!  You're doing very well.  Let's finish Strong!

5/26/2010- Okay! That's better. The scale paid us back this week. I am seeing people begin to struggle with cravings and temptations.  Remember, you don't have to eliminate the tempting foods all together. You just have to stop living with them.  Don't completely deprive yourselves, but don't surround youselves with bad influences either. Rely upon the support group that you should have in place by now, and keep your environment supportive. Above all-- HAVE FAITH IN YOUR ABILITY TO SUCCEED!  Now, WORK IT!!

5/20/2010- WOW!!  By the looks of the POINTS total we absolutely are DOING great things.  The WEIGHT LOSS numbers are trying to tell a different story.  Look forward!! If you fell off, JUMP BACK ON; If you are on track- JUMP ON IT HARDER! These are the times when we find out if we have learned something.  I know you all have the knowledge to keep you from being deterred by this down week. Use it to push you further. Challenge yourselves to do just a little better TODAY. Everyday Matters!  See ya in the Gym.

5/12/2010- The halfway point is upon us. After completing all the lectures, I know the white team is making better choices and working VERY hard in the gym.  Everyone is getting great gains in strength and endurance.  Todd comented that each time things get easier. Life also gets easier and more enjoyable when we are at a higher fitness level.  We will be taking mid-point measurements on Thursday. I have no doubt we will have some fun results. Keep up the hard work and dedication and MAKE good things happen.

5/5/2010- To quote a very strong and competitive team member-- OORAH White Team!!!  Todd's body stood up and is taking notice now.  Nice Job Todd!!! He has made some great strides and is really working hard.  I am very proud of members of the team for being so dedicated even through trips, finals, plateaus, etc.  Consistency is the key.  If you keep doing good things then that is exactly what begins to happen--Good Things -- ALWAYS!  With the reading and lectures drawing to an end soon, the intensity and amount of excercise will increase.  Be sure that your nutrition is spot on to accomodate this.  Again-- OOORAHH!!!

4/28/2010- The White Team is a competitive bunch!  They are really getting into this. It's always cool to see such excitement and hard work.  The team is learning early lessons on balance in life.  College finals, vacation, parties, etc.  If we just approach them all with our new lifestyle as an absolute to lean on, they can't derail us.  If we are shaky with our choices, these things can really hurt.  Hang Tough and keep up the great work.  Big Rewards WILL come.

4/20/2010- And we're off!!  The white team is off to a great start.  The Longhursts were just glad to maintain through their vacation and are now ready to really hit it.  Other than that we had some generosity from the scale as we usually see on week one.  It sure kicks off the momentum, though.  The team is doing really well on record keeping.  THIS WILL BE THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF THE PUZZLE!!!! Don't cheat yourself! Be PICKY!! It gets easier, and will always work. Let's ride the energy and just keep flying.  GO WHITE TEAM!!
